Who we are

Lake Eden Retreat is very much a family owned and operated business. The Pickering family first moved here to Lake Eden back in 1956 and has continuously cared for and lived on the property ever since. This is our home and we hope that every visitor feels just that…they are a guest in our home, not just a customer. After hosting weddings and events over the years for various friends and family, in 2004 we began operating Lake Eden Events & Lodging as a destination for gatherings of all types. Leigh & the Lake Eden team look forward to each season as an opportunity to share this beautiful space with so many new faces.

Located in one of the most scenic spots in the Blue Ridge and only minutes from historic downtown Asheville, we offer a variety of beautiful locations that can be customized for your wedding ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner, private party, conference or workshop and will provide a memorable and enriching experience for your guests.

We offer several picturesque locations to hold weddings, corporate picnics, or any outdoor event, or for a rustic indoor setting check out The Barns. Our approved vendors can provide custom wedding tents with all the trimmings and can make arrangements for any size gathering, from 2 to 2,000 at our beautiful lakeside location. Our ceremony site, “The Overlook” includes a custom designed stage that perches above scenic Lake Eden with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. The view combined with our lighted bridge over the stream and beautiful brick laid bridal path make for an entrance you will never forget.
